Police have made an arrest after a man was savegely killed in Greenock

Michael Beaton, 35, was hit by a car and then attacked with a bladed weapon on Sunday, November 26 around 7.20pm on Drumfrochar Road outside St Patrick's Primary School.

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with very serious injuries but died a few hours later.

Police launched a huge public appeal after the horrific attack - and now they have made an arrest.

Officers say a 25-year-old man is in custody and enquiries are continuing
