A man has appeared in court in connection with the discovery of an estimated £35,000 of ecstasy.

Ross Stewart, 22, from Denny near Falkirk, made no plea or declaration at the private appearance at Falkirk Sheriff Court.

He is accused of being concerned in the supply of drugs and also faces a charge under the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979.

A Crown Office spokesman said Stewart was committed for further examination and released on bail. He is expected to appear at a further court date yet to be confirmed.

Police said a package of the drug was discovered in Denny on Friday, having been delivered from the Netherlands, in a joint operation involving the Border Force and the National Crime Agency.
