Man Appears In Court Charged With Murder

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering another man in Rutherglen.

David Strathern, 28, is alleged to have stabbed and killed James Connelly on March 8, this year at Greenhill Road. He is accused of striking him on the body "with a knife or similar implement". Strathern, from Rutherglen, appeared from custody at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

He made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody. He will appear in court again next week for a full committal hearing.
