A man has been remanded in custody after being accused of murdering his wife by stabbing her to death in their home.
Robert Kerr, 38, attended a 90-second court hearing over claims he killed Xin Xin Liu, 39.
It's claimed he carried out the murder on Tuesday, April 26, in Newton Mearns.
He appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court to face a single charge of murder.
Prosecutors claim Kerr murdered the mother of two, who has sons aged 11 and six, by "repeatedly striking her on the body" with a knife.
The petition against him alleges he stabbed and slashed her at their home in the upmarket area's Beech Avenue.
Officers were called to the home at around 11.55pm on Tuesday, where Liu was found dead.
An investigation in to her death was launched and Kerr was arrested during the probe.
He was held in custody at Govan's Helen Street police office ahead of his short court appearance.
He was led into the dock of the building's court one in handcuffs at 3.05pm, wearing a grey jumper.
He was represented by defence solicitor Kevin Brady, of Renfrew law firm Callahan McKeown & Co, and made no plea or declaration during the behind-closed-doors hearing, which concluded at 3.06pm.
No motion for bail was made and Kerr was remanded in custody by Sheriff John Herald.
The case against him was continued for prosecutors to investigate further and he is expected to make a second court appearance next week.
