A person has been hit by a car at the junction of St Vincent Street and Newton Street in Glasgow.

The incident happened around 7.40pm this evening.

Emergency services are currently on the scene and a number of road closures are in place - with drivers being advised to avoid the area.

We don't yet have an update on the condition of the pedestrian.

Road closures

The following roads are closed:

St Vincent Street(Eastbound) between Elderslie Street and Elmbank Street.

St Vincent Street(Westbound) between Elmbank Street and Elderslie Street.

Newton Street(Southbound) between Bath Street and St Vincent Street.
