Lorry driver in hospital after vehicle overturns on M74

A lorry driver has been airlifted to hospital after crashing on the hard shoulder of the M74 in South Lanarkshire.
The incident happened at around 4pm on the southbound carriageway at junction eight near Larkhall.

Emergency services were called to the scene and both parts of the M74 were closed while an air ambulance landed at the scene.
Police said diversions remain in place for the southbound carriageway while officers investigate.
