A three-year-old boy narrowly avoided injury after a lit firework was thrown from a passing car as he played in his garden in Bearsden
Police are searching for four occupants of a blue Volkswagen Golf that was involved in the incident in Montrose Drive on Sunday at around 6.30pm.
Our Chief Reporter Linda Sinclair is there:
The child was playing in the garden when a rear passenger in the Golf lit the firework and it flew towards the youngster as the car drove passed.
He was not injured but was left shaken and upset, police said.
The car, thought to be a 53 plate, drove off towards Stockiemuir Avenue.
The rear passenger is aged around 20 with blond hair, and he was wearing a navy jacket or long-sleeved top. The driver was of a similar age with short dark hair.
There are no descriptions of the other people who were in the car.
A police spokesman said: “Thankfully, the young boy was not injured in the incident, however, understandably he was left shaken and upset.
“Police would like to speak to anyone who may have information as it is believed that the car had been driving around the wider area of Bearsden before the incident occurred.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.”
