TV soap Waterloo Road comes to a dramatic finale tonight after years of filming in Greenock. It's been drawing in millions of viewers every week but bosses have decided to axe the school drama after 10 years.

Glasgow-based Shed Productions, who make the popular soap, leased the former Greenock Academy building to film.

Originally based in Rochdale, the production move to Inverclyde was part of the BBC's strive to increase network programming from Scotland and the other nations of the UK. Shane O'Meara played the character Connor Mulgrew.

Our reporter Connor Gillies met the star for a chat about his time on Waterloo Road and what he thought of Inverclyde:

Episode will be broadcast on BBC Three at 2030.
