LISTEN: Tories Under Fire Over Trident

Published 2nd Nov 2015

The Conservatives in Scotland are hitting out at Scottish Labour saying they have "lost the plot" over Trident.

The party voted overwhelmingly against renewing the the Clyde based nuclear weapons at their conference, putting policy north of the border at odds with the UK party's stance.

The vote also means UK leader Jeremy Corbyn and Scottish Labour Leader Kezia Dugdale both now have a different view on the controversial issue to their party members.

In Helensburgh, down the coast from Faslane, the Tories came under fire from local SNP activists about their argument 6,700 local jobs could be at risk if the renewal programme is scrapped.

Conservative MSP Jackson Carlaw and Activist Alasdair Jamison had a heated debate.
