A petition to remove a controversial 'alt-right' journalist as a candidate to be Glasgow University's next Rector has attracted more than 2,000 signatures.
Milo Yiannopoulos, who was banned from Twitter last year after making racist comments about the black actress Leslie Jones, is one of 12 people nominated for the position.
Another is human rights lawyer Aemer Anwar, who been giving Clyde News his reaction to sharing the spotlight with Mr Yiannopoulos:
The university's website states: "All nominees have personally agreed to take part in the election which will be conducted electronically and under the single-transferable-vote system from 9am on 20 March until 4pm on 21 March 2017."
