The fatal accident inquiry into the bin lorry crash that killed six people last December has now concluded.

The summing up statement from the lawyer of the driver Harry Clarke stated he "was not a lying and deceitful man but an ordinary man with ordinary failings who'll live with the pain and suffering he has caused for the rest of his life"

Paul Reid addressed the allegations against his client saying they were both unfair and unfounded.

He has been publicly branded as a liar who has blood on his hands and in court told he was previously told the deaths of the six people was "all his fault".

Today his lawyer insisted no doctor had ever told him he was unfit to drive and he clearly never set out to ensue the carnage of that day.

Sheriff Beckett will now be tasked with looking back at all the issues that have been raised and will deliver his determinations by January at the latest.
