A group of campaigners will take to the streets of Alexandria tonight in protest over two sex attacks in the West Dunbartonshire area.

A police probe was launched, earlier this month, after a 16-year-old girl was raped close to the Duncan Mills slipway in Balloch just weeks after a 49-year-old woman was indecently assaulted whilst out walking her dog by the River Leven.

Enquiries are still ongoing into both incidents, but police say there is nothing to suggest the two cases are linked.

Women rights campaigner Lynda McEwan, who lives in Tullichewan, has set up tonight’s Reclaim the Night rally:

Campaigners will meet on Alexandria’s Main Street at 7pm and march along Stephen Street, Gray Street and Suzannah Street, before returning back to the start.

Anyone with information regarding the recent attacks is urged to contact Clydebank CID on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
