LISTEN: Motherwell hosts major cycle race

The Pearl Izumi series saw some of the UK's top cyclists race around the town centre's streets

Hundreds of people lined the streets of Motherwell last night to watch the best cyclists in Britain race.

Now in its eighth season, the Pearl Izumi involves up to ten teams battling it out to be crowned the fastest and best team in Britain.

The teams did 1.2 kilometre loops of the town centre in the gruelling test of endurance.

The six top British teams who will compete in every round in 2016 are defending champions Madison Genesis, NFTO, Pedal Heaven, 2014 champions JLT Condor presented by Mavic, Team Raleigh and Team Wiggins.

These spectators Clyde News' Chief Reporter Linda Sinclair spoke to were impressed.
