An angel statue's being presented to the school of Lennon Toland - the young boy knocked down and killed in Shettleston - to allow the kids in his to class to remember their friend.

The 5-year-old was on his way home from St Paul's Primary when he was hit by a van, in front of his classmates, on Dalness Street.

Thousands of people have signed a petition launched by the family to have a play park installed, in the spot where he was killed, in his memory.

His gran, Karen Pearson, has been speaking to our reporter Shiona McCallum:

Yesterday, Karen, posted a picture of the temporary car park in Dalness Street on theChange.org site and wrote: "My 5 year old grandson Lennon Toland was killed at this spot last Monday the 12th September 2016.

"He was 5 years old and was picking up stones as he often did on his way home from school.

"He should have been perfectly safe at this spot but instead he lost his life.

"We want this made into a swingpark in memory of Lennon as he loved swingparks.

"It would also give us and other kids a place to sit and remember him instead of walking by and remembering the horrific images of Lennon lying there.

"Pls help make this happen."
