A Greenock woman has exclusively told Clyde News how she thought she was going blind after receiving botched botox in a Glasgow salon.

The 35 year-old, who we are calling Beth to protect her identity, is now calling for the law to be tightened after she claims she was misled about the beautician's qualifications:

Beth is now taking legal action against the Partick salon responsible.

Earlier this month we revealed around half of clinics who offer the likes of fillers or botox have still to register with Healthcare Improvement Scotland - more than 4 months after the rules on regulation and inspection were tightened.

The clampdown on cosmetic procedures affects medically trained practitioners like dentists or nurses working in private salons - any one offering the service has to be registered with Healthcare Improvement Scotland although beauticians come under different rules.
