[LISTEN] Gold Medallist Dan Keatings Helps Glasgow Warm Up For World Gymnastic Championships
Glasgow is preparing to welcome hundreds of gymnasts to the city later this month for ten days of competition.
The World Gymnastics Championships, being held at the SSE Hydro arena, will involve contests for world titles as nations challenge for qualification to the Rio 2016 Olympics.
Commonwealth Games gold medal-winning gymnast Dan Keatings was joined by local gymnastics fans in Glasgow today for a mini master-class.
Rob Waller spoke to Dan Keatings earlier:
His visit comes as it was revealed 144,000 bottles of water - more than 72,000 litres - will be provided to athletes and their support teams for the event in a partnership with Strathmore water.
The championships get under way on October 23, comprising four days of qualification events followed by six days of finals where gymnasts compete in team, all-around and individual apparatus events.
Councillor Frank McAveety, leader of Glasgow City Council, said excitement was building ahead of the competition, with more than 45,000 tickets already sold.
