[LISTEN] Glasgow Charity Urges Government To Speed Up Refugee Crisis Response
Glasgow-based charity SCIAF is calling for the Government to speed up its response to the refugee crisis.
SCIAF say more than two thousand adults and children have drowned this year alone trying to cross the Mediterranean.
They argue that the plan to take in 20,000 refugees over five years could be too slow and risk thousands more dying on Europe's shores.
The charity fears already stretched international development cash will be plundered to help those fleeing countries like Syria, Eritrea and Lebanon.
Our reporter Linda Sinclair spoke to SCIAF's director Alistair Dutton.
