LISTEN: Dad of missing teenager Sarah Goldie speaks out
Gordon Goldie says he'll be forever grateful to the two men that jumped into the River Clyde to try and save her.
We've been talking to the father of missing teenager Sarah Goldie.
The 18 year old from Renfrew said goodbye to her dad Gordon Goldie when she left her home on Friday morning, but she didn't return.
A woman matching her description was spotted in the River Clyde later that night and he believes it was his daughter.
You can listen to Gordon talking with our reporter Shiona McCallum here:
He said; "Sarah left the house on Friday morning to go into Renfrew and then into Glasgow.
"It was a completely normal thing for her to do; typical teenage girl.
"I was at football on Friday night, and I was on my way home and my wife said Sarah's not come home but we left it a little bit because teenage girl who is out and coming late home. At what point do you say something's up here?
"So later on that night, at 11.40pm, I went and reported her missing at Helen Street Police Office."
"The Police have been absolutely brilliant. There's people searching all avenues of what her movements were on Friday.
"The most difficult bit to comprehend is that two members of the public went into the River Clyde after her, I cannot ever thank them enough." She is described as white, 5 ft 6 in height, of medium build, with brown eyes and sandy/strawberry blond straight hair. She was wearing a khaki green Parka type jacket with a fur trimmed hood and was carrying a cherry red coloured handbag. Chief Inspector Mark Sutherland, Glasgow City Centre Police, said today: “Our enquiry to trace Sarah Goldie continues and I would like to thank the public who have responded so positively to our appeals for information which has allowed us to speak to a number of significant witnesses. “We have been piecing together Sarah's movements on Friday in both Renfrew and Glasgow through CCTV evidence and witness accounts. We have spoken to a number of people who witnessed an incident close to the King George V Bridge in Glasgow later that evening and now firmly believe that the young woman who was seen in the water is Sarah Goldie from the Renfrew area." "We have continued to keep Sarah's family updated throughout our enquiry. No one else is believed to have been involved in the incident that led to Sarah entering the water. “Our specialist marine policing unit and divisional officers are continuing to search the River Clyde today. “I would again like to thank everyone who took the time to contact police and would continue to ask that anyone with information about Sarah can contact Glasgow City Centre Police via 101.”
