LISTEN: Campaign to bring home body of Muay Thai boxer surpasses target
More than £18,000 has been raised to help bring the body of Jordan Coe back to Scotland
A Just Giving campaign to bring home the body of Jordan Coe, a Muay Tai boxer who died in Thailand of suspected heat stroke, has surpassed it's target.
The 20 year-old was found dead in a heavy tracksuit and is understood to have been trying to reach a certain weight for a professional fight.
Jordan, from Maddiston, was a professional Muay Thai boxer and formerly trained at a gym in Glasgow.
Craig Floan, his coach at Glasgow Thai Boxing Academy was told about his death in a phone call on Sunday.
His wife Nicole set up the page and spoke to Radio Clyde News:
The tribute on the Just Giving page reads: "This page has been set to help cover the costs of bringing one of not only Scotland's but the worlds most favourite Thai boxer home.
"With the permisson from Jordan's mum Lisa we are looking to raise as much as possible to ease the financial strain at this sad time.
"Jordan was one of a kind, he was the most loveable, likeable, caring , enthuasltic young man you will have ever came across, his passion for the sport was incomparable.
"He lived for Muay Thai so much so he chased his dream of living and fighting in Thailand and boy did he live it.
"He loved coming home and fighting on home shows bringing some crowd with him, everywhere you went Everyone loved Jordan.
"He was an inspiration to so many, a great fighter who made all his coaches extremely proud and always put on a show.
"The Thai community will never be the same again, he will be extremely missed but he leaves behind some legacy.
"Thank you in advance for your help, Jordan's mum is so overwhelmed at the love and support for her much loved son. "
