The father of a 17 year old schoolgirl stabbed to death in an Ayrshire street is fighting for a review on sentencing after her killer was given early parole.

Michelle Stewart was stabbed by her ex boyfriend, 20 year-old John Wilson in Drongan in November 2008.

He was given a life sentence after pleading guilty to murder.

At the time the judge said Wilson must serve at least 12 years but only served 9 before applying for parole.

Ms Stewart's father Kenneth told West FM his daughter had been "completely let down" by the justice system...

Tory Leader Ruth Davidson has called for new Justice Secretary Humza Yousaf to carry out a "root and branch'' review to restore confidence in the system
