Person dies following incident at Lenzie train station
It happened just before seven o'clock this evening
A person has died following an incident at Lenzie railway station this evening.
It happened around 10 to 7 with the British Transport Police saying the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police told Radio Clyde News:
"Officers were called to Lenzie railway station at 18:51hrs following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
Train services between Glasgow Queen Street and Croy are currently subject to delays and cancellations following the tragic incident.
Phil Campbell, ScotRail Head of Customer Operations, said: “We’re sorry to customers who have experienced disruption as a result of this incident.
“Customers delayed by 30 minutes or more are entitled to claim compensation through our Delay Repay Guarantee.
“Passengers who are planning on travelling through the affected area can check the status of their journey using JourneyCheck -ScotRail.”
