A Clyde News campaign to open a review into Scotland's Control of Dogs Act is within days of achieving its goal.

Following a members debate on the issue earlier this week, Colin Beattie MSP has confirmed he is starting the process of getting the law looked at again.

He spoke to our political correspondent Alan Smith:

Our 'Lead the Way' campaign found major inconsistencies across the country on local authorities control dogs and thousands are being hospitalised with attack injuries every year.

The Community Safety Minister Annabelle Ewing is also writing to councils to find out exactly what measures they have in place.
