RNLI Largs Lifeboat was one of three crews to be scrambled over the weekend - due to seasickness.

Alongside RNLI Tighnabruaich and RNLI Troon, they responded to a boat in distress at Scalspie Point, west of the Isle of Bute.

Two children were among the ten passengers on board.

"Volunteer crew from all three RNLI crews demonstrated a high level of teamwork."

Crews moved the stricken boat to Inchmarnock island where the decision was made to transfer passengers onto RNLI Troon Lifeboat, and on to Portavadie where they were cared for by ambulance crews.

The boat was then towed to Tighnabruaich where it was placed on a mooring.

John Griffiths, Lifeboat Operations Manager at Largs RNLI, said: ‘Volunteer crew from all three RNLI crews demonstrated a high level of teamwork, working together in a very professional manner."
