Violent Lanarkshire sex attacker jailed for nine years
Kyle Hill repeatedly tormented the victims during a campaign of abuse spanning almost four years.
A violent Lanarkshire sex attacker whose victims remain frightened of him has been jailed for nine years.
Kyle Hill was locked up as a judge said a lengthy sentence was needed to "represent an adequate punishment" that "reflects society's disapproval" for such crimes against women.
The 26 year-old repeatedly tormented the victims during a campaign of abuse spanning almost four years.
It included Hill, of Carluke, raping both the traumatised women.
Hill was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow having earlier been convicted of a total of six charges.
The crimes occurred in Kirkintilloch, East Dunbartonshire and in Lanark between November 2018 and March 2022.
Judge Douglas Brown said he was responsible for the "serious, emotional, physical and sexual abuse" of the women
He told Hill: "Both describe in strikingly similar terms how you controlled and monitored what they were doing, insulted and intimidated them.
"Your behaviour has had a lasting psychological effect on them.
"The (pre-sentencing) report states how they both remain fearful of you.
"They continue to have flashbacks and both require counselling to assist them with moving on with their lives."
The judge remarked Hill continued to deny the crimes and that he showed "no insight" into the offences.
He added: "The courts have to impose sentences that no only represent an adequate punishment, but also reflect society's disapproval for such crimes.
"It also has to act as a deterrent to those who somehow may consider such behaviour."
Hill will be supervised for a further three years on his release.
He was also put on the sex offenders list and banned from contacting the women - both for an indefinite period.
The hearing was earlier told how Hill already had previous convictions for violence.
In connection with the latest offences, his lawyer Lili Prais stated: "It is clear he accepts some poor behaviour.
"As far as the most significant parts of the indictment (of charges), his position remains one of denial."
