Lanarkshire man to stand trial accused of murder
Nicholas Henry, 45, is charged with killing Daniel Greer in Airdrie, Lanarkshire on October 17 2020.
A Lanarkshire man will now stand trial later this year accused of murder.
Nicholas Henry, 45, is charged with killing Daniel Greer in Airdrie, Lanarkshire on October 17 2020.
It is alleged Henry struck the 33 year-old on the head and body with a knife or knives.
Mr Greer is also said to have been repeatedly kicked and stamped upon as well as suffered other blunt force injuries.
Henry is then claimed to have dragged the man from a front garden o in the town to one further along the same street.
Henry denies murder and should have stood trial this week at the High Court in Glasgow.
But, his QC Donald Findlay told a hearing he was now unavailable due to another case he is involved in, which has over-ran.
The advocate said there was also no other defence QC free to replace him.
Judge Lord Beckett went on to state: "I am afraid the pandemic has caused many difficulties in the administration of justice.
"In the whole circumstances...I will grant the motion to adjourn."
Henry is now due to face trial on August 29 in Paisley.
The case could last six days.
