Woman who died following Lanarkshire crash named by police
Tamar Jones sadly lost her life after the collision at the weekend
A woman who died following a crash in Lanarkshire at the weekend has been named as 42-year-old Tamara Jones.
The A70 Ayr Road was closed for six hours following the collision between Tamara's red Corsa and a white Polo at around 12.30pm on Saturday afternoon.
Ms Jones was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she sadly died on Sunday, 6 August.
The 54-year-old male driver of the Polo was taken to Wishaw General Hospital for treatment.
Police Sergeant Gemma Blackadder for the Road Policing Unit said:
"Our thoughts are with Tamara's family and friends.
“Our inquiries are continuing into the crash are continuing. I would ask anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage, and has not yet spoken to or provided this information to officers, to contact us as soon as possible.
