The Uddingston and Bothwell Community Action Group's asking for the public's help to find a new premises, as their current lease has been terminated.

They've been based at Birkenshaw Sports Barn in Uddingston - but it's now needed back due to the changes to lockdown restrictions.

They're being moved back to their previous base at Viewpark gardens - but it has no running water and the roof is leaking.

They provide around 50 hot meals every day to those in need, as well as clothes and supplies to families through women's aid referrals.

Allan Stewart from the organisation said: "We're still very very busy. We have spoken about calling it a day - but that's not an option now.

"The people in the village need continued support, so we've not really got an option just to pull the plug, so we're going to do all we can to find premises just so we can continue."

Allan tells us they're looking for a commercial premises within the G71 postcode area.

He said: "Anything within G71 - from the start of Righead industrial estate in Bellshill up to around the racecourse in Hamilton.

"If anyone's got anything commercial or units or a hall or a yard - even a church with a spare hall."

The group's looking to move into the new space as soon as possible to continue supporting the local community.
