Police appeal for school run witnesses after attack in Lanark

A 29-year-old man was left in hospital on Tuesday morning

Police in Lanark are appealling to people who were on the school run for information about an attack on a 29-year-old man which left him in hospital.

The victim was seriously assaulted at a property on Smyllum Road around 9.05am on Tuesday, 20 September.

The victim was taken to Wishaw General Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

Detective Constable Murray McMillan, from Wishaw CID, said: “We’re appealing to anyone with information on this attack, or who saw anything suspicious in the Smyllum Road area on Tuesday morning, to please come forward.

“We are also keen to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the area around that time, such as motorists heading to work or parents taking children to school.

“If you believe you can assist our enquiries, please call 101, quoting incident 0579 of 20 September.
