Police are searching for a man who threatened staff with a firearm, and stole a three figure sum of cash
Staff at a bookmakers in Hamilton have been left shaken after a man threatened them with a firearm, and stole a three figure sum of cash.
It happened at around ten to 7 last night (5th February) at Ladbrokes in the Burnbank Shopping Centre, Burnbank Road, Hamilton.
Police are appealing for information after a man threatened staff at a bookmakers in Hamilton with what appeared to be a firearm and stole a three figure sum of cash.
The suspect is described as white, 5 ft 8 and slim build, wearing a face mask, and ran off in the direction of Ann Street.
The weapon was not discharged and no one was injured, however, staff were left very shaken by what happened.
The suspect is described as white, 5 ft 8 in height, of slim build, wearing a face mask, dark upper clothing, light coloured trousers with dark patches, light coloured footwear, a baseball cap, his hood up and was carrying a dark rucksack.
He is believed to have run off in the direction of Ann Street, Hamilton.
Detective Sergeant Clare Curley Cambuslang CID, said:
"Officers are checking CCTV and carrying out local enquiries but would also appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch.
"Information can be passed to officers via 101 quoting reference number 2855 of Saturday, 5 February, 2022. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111."
