Kushion Nightclub suspended from trading for a fortnight
After the suspension is lifted, the club's licence will only be active until midnight instead of 3am.
Kushion Nightclub on Bath Street in the city centre of Glasgow has been suspended from trading, after Police Scotland deemed many of the incidents which have happened in it over the years to be 'serious'.
Last September a 21-year-old man was stabbed five times at the venue after a fight broke out between three men. One of the men involved has since been jailed for 10 years for attempted murder.
An incident also took place in 2017 where a 17-year old girl was sexually assaulted.
After the suspension is lifted, the club's licence will only be active until midnight instead of 3am.
Police Scotland have asked that the owners of the nightclub work with them to make it a safer place for people to go before they will consider lifting the restriction.
A spokesman for Glasgow City Council said: "Members of the board were clear that action had to be taken in relation to these premises to ensure public safety.
"We expect the licence holder to now undertake a range of measures to ensure the necessary improvements to how these premises have been previously operating."
