Knifepoint robbery in Paisley Street

Detectives are appealing for information after a man was robbed in the Paisley area on Saturday 14th April 2018.

Around 9.45pm a 19 year old man was on George Street near to the Kwang Tung Chinese restaurant when a man presented a knife and threatened him, demanding he hand over a sum of cash.

The victim then made his way inside the takeaway and was followed by the suspect, who claimed to other customers that they knew each other.

The suspect then left the takeaway and the victim stayed to contact police.

The suspect is described as a white male, short dark hair, 6' tall and wearing a black tracksuit.

Detective Constable Grant Spy from Paisley CID: “We understand that prior to the robbery taking place, the victim ran across George Street towards the takeaway, narrowly avoiding a car. He also spoke to a man and a woman on George Street at the time of the incident.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed a disturbance on George Street, or was in the takeaway immediately after the robbery, to please come forward.
