A thug who brutally knifed a man was caught - but told police: “I was going to hand myself in anyway”. Robert Craig attacked Kevin Lee in Glasgow's Craigton in the early hours of January 8 2018.
A judge heard how the victim was later found lying in the middle of the road by a taxi driver with effectively “his guts hanging out”.
Craig was soon arrested before a blade was discovered dumped close to the scene.
The 21 year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting Mr Lee to the danger of his life.
Craig had his bail continued meantime at the High Court in Glasgow.
The hearing was told how a witness spotted a confrontation close to her flat.
She spotted Mr Lee being thrown over a car and that Craig had a “shiny” item in his hand.
After the victim was found, he was rushed to hospital suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Craig was discovered near the scene of the attack in the city's Paisley Road West.
Prosecutor Margaret McFarlane said: “He gave no comment as to why there was blood on his hands.”
DNA also linked Craig, of the city's Govan, to the crime.
John McElroy, defending, said Craig knew of his victim, but there were not “friends”.
The advocate added: “He has a vague idea that they may have started fighting, but, other than that, he cannot say what the position is.”
Lady Scott deferred sentencing for reports until next month in Edinburgh.
