A man slashed his sister's boyfriend twice in an unprovoked attack, a court has hear.
29 year-old Owen Anderson knifed Andrew Doleman on the head and arm in July this year at a Kinning Park flat.
Mr Doleman was rushed to hospital for treatment to three stab wounds.
Anderson, from the city's Drumchapel, pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to assaulting Mr Doleman with a knife to his severe injury.
The court heard Anderson had been staying at his sister’s flat at the time.
He was in the kitchen and picked up a 10 inch bladed kitchen knife.
Prosecutor Amanda Gallagher said: “He walked into the living room where Mr Doleman was sitting and struck him on the head with the knife.
“Mr Doleman asked what he was doing as he was shocked as the attack came from nowhere.
“Anderson struck him again but Mr Doleman raised his hand to stop it but it struck his forearm and elbow.”
Mr Doleman was left “covered in blood” in the living room while Anderson ran off back into the kitchen.
The knife was taken from Anderson and a 999 call made.
Anderson fled from the house before officers arrived, but turned himself in later that night.
Mr Doleman was rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to his wounds.
He received four small cuts to his head, a two inch gash on his right forearm and a wound to his elbow which was treated with stitches.
Sheriff John McCormick deferred sentence for reports until next month.
Anderson was remanded in the meantime.
