Police treating man's death in Kilmarnock as 'unexplained'

A man's death on a street in Kilmarnock is being treated as "unexplained", police have said.

Officers were called to a report of an unresponsive man in Orchard Street at around 5.25pm on Tuesday.

Emergency services attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Inspector Martin Lawrie of Police Scotland said:

"Extensive inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding this death.

"Officers will remain in the area over the course of tonight and tomorrow and anyone with any information or concerns can speak to them, or call Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 2460 of Tuesday 22 April 2025."
