Witness appeal to trace driver after pensioner is knocked down in Ayrshire

Police are looking to trace the driver of a car after a pensioner was knocked down in Kilbirnie with injuries which have left them in hospital.

The 72-year-old man was hurt in the incident which happened around 6.10pm on Tuesday, 10 January, near to Muirend Street

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment where his condition is described as stable.

Dash cam witness appeal

Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: “We are appealing to the public for information as part of our ongoing enquiry to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“If you were in the area at the time then please get in touch. We are keen to speak to any drivers with dash-cam footage that could assist.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2691 of Tuesday, 10 January, 2023.
