Three people are to stand trial having been arrested following a mass demonstration.

Olivia Jones, 24, Kairos Pakleppa and Nicholas Sigsworth - both 33 - face charges following the protest in Kenmure Street, Pollokshields, Glasgow on May 13 2021.

Crowds had gathered that day after two Sikh men were detained by the Home Office for alleged immigration violations.

Jones, of the city's Battlefield, is accused of behaving in a threatening and abusive manner towards police.

She is then charged with obstructing two constables by struggling with them and lying under a car.

Jones faces a third charge of repeatedly kicking one of the officers to her injury and a final accusation of punching the other on the body.

Pakleppa, of Muswell Hill, London, is also charged with acting in a threatening manner towards police and trying to lie under a motor as its being removed.

Sigsworth, of York, faces claims that he obstructed three constables and refused to get out of a vehicle or an alternative allegation of breach of the peace.

The cases against the trio called at separate hearings at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

They have pled not guilty to the charges they each face.

Jones and Pakleppa are due face summary trials without a jury in early October with Sigsworth's case set for later that month.

They remain on bail meantime.
