Unique Creative Environment

Glasgow Print Studio is renowned worldwide for its innovative works and sophisticated technology.

It provides a unique environment where famous names work alongside ordinary people and students.

John Mackechnie, Director of Glasgow Print Studio, said: "One of the artists who comes in is a street sweeper in his day job.

"He comes in and just works on his print, stood next to some star artists."

Mr Mackechnie added: “The story of Glasgow Print Studio is really quite remarkable, starting in 1972 with a group of enthusiasts with no money in a basement flat.

"Its progress since then has been quite meteoric and at the forefront of contemporary art from Scotland ever since.

"It invites the best artists in Scotland to work with them and then takes the work to an international audience."

Artistic Legacy for Glasgow

Bailie Annette Christie, Chair of Glasgow Life, said: "We're hoping that a legacy will come out of this.

"We want young people, in our schools and beyond, and every citizen, to come along, have a look, and maybe have a go.

"The joy of this show, is that many up-and-coming printmakers are shown alongside some of the most successful Scottish artists of the last 50 years."
