You may remeber Kai, the dog abandoned at Ayr train station last month - we he will be going home with his owner today. The male Shar-pei crossbreed had the world talking about him last month when he was found with a suitcase, packed with a pillow, toys and food bowl.

The Scottish SPCA were deluged with hundreds of calls from people offering a new home for shar-pei crossbreed Kai, who was abandoned at Ayr station in South Ayrshire in a tale similar to that of Paddington Bear.

His Just Giving page received more than £6000 in donations.

His story hit the headlines around the world, from the US to Hong Kong, and the charity has had calls from people in California and Tennessee offering to take him in.

However Kai needed surgery to his eyelids, which were curled under meaning his eyelashes touch his eyeballs.

But he is be off to a new home later this morning saying goodbye to the rehoming centre in Cardonald where he was looked after.
