A Scottish junior footballer has admitted assaulting a man in a Glasgow nightclub.

Reece Murdoch, 23, attacked his unknown victim in the city centre's Wunderbar on May 28 2023.

The new Drumchapel United goalkeeper bit the man on the head and threw a plastic tumbler at him which caused him to fall to the floor.

The ex-Kirkintilloch Rob Roy, Airdrie and Cumbernauld Colts player pleaded guilty to the assault.

Court papers state the former Rangers and Livingston starlet, of Johnstone, Renfrewshire, was on bail at the time of the offence.

A not guilty plea was accepted by the Crown to a separate charge of having a glass without a reasonable excuse or lawful authority.

His lawyer Cameron Murdoch will make his plea in mitigation at next month's sentencing where more information regarding the circumstances will be heard.

Sheriff Anna Reid granted Murdoch bail meantime.
