The Independent Federation of Nursing was established in 1995 and has evolved over the years to meet the needs of nurses all over Scotland by offering an efficient and personal service. They are as passionate about their patient care as you are as a nurse.

Members within the Union are assured that they will receive confidential and individual representation and can be confident in the knowledge that the main aim is the promotion of the members’ interests in the workplace.

One of the principal purposes for the establishment and ongoing service of The Independent Federation of Nursing, is to assist in the regulation of communications and relations between nursing staff and their respective employers and associations.

Membership of the IFON is open to all staff who provide nursing care within hospital, community or secure settings, whether within the NHS or the Independent sector. They represent all bands of nursing staff (at all levels within their workplace).
