Jewellery stolen after house broken into in Bearsden

An appeal for information has been launched after a housebreaking in Bearsden on Wednesday 29 November 2017.

The follows a recent rise in housebreakings where high value Asian jewellery has been stolen.

Between 9:00am and 5:15pm on Wednesday 29th November, a house in Henderland Road, Bearsden was broken into and jewellery was stolen.

Constable Gill of the Community Investigation Unit based at Helen Street Police Station said: 'Enquiries are continuing to find whoever is responsible for this housebreaking and we are linking it to a spate of similar crimes that have taken place throughout Glasgow.

'Our initial enquiries revealed that between 1100-1200 hours and 1600 - 1700 hours on Wednesday, a silver or grey Volkswagen Golf car was seen driving up and down Henderland Road between its junctions with Henderland Avenue and Westfield Drive. The vehicle is described as a five door model with dark tinted rear windows.

'At this time, officers are working to identify this vehicle and we would ask anyone with more information regarding this vehicle and its occupants, or any drivers who drove through Henderland Road on Wednesday between the stated times who have dash-cam, to please get in touch with officers from the enquiry team, as they may hold information that will assist our investigation.'
