Scottish Labour's Jackie Baillie has held onto the seat in Dumbarton.

The vote was one of the last to come in tonight at Clydebank Leisure Centre from the Scottish Parliament election.

Scottish Labour secured 17,825 votes, while SNP's Toni Giugliano secured 16,342 - increasing Labour's majority in the constituency.

Previously in 2016, Labour won by just 109 votes.

MSP Jackie Baillie told Clyde 1: "I'm feeling tremendous.

"This is the sixth time I've contested the constituency and local people have put their trust in me again, and I can't begin to tell you how wonderful that feels.

"I feel a huge responsibility to make sure I repay that trust and I will work day and night in the interest of my constituents."

She explained why she thinks she managed to hold onto her seat, despite SNP gains in other areas.

She said: "I think they genuinely wanted to see a recovery prioritised.

"I stood on a lot of doorsteps and it was great to actually have conversations with people but they were saying to me they were concerned because some of them were waiting at least more than a year already for hospital treatment, some were still in furlough and they were worried if they would have a job at the end of it.

"Our kids have been out of school for a year and for them to catch up on their education and get some of those missed opportunities back again were all things raised."

Earlier on at Clydebank Leisure Centre, SNP's Marie McNair held onto SNP's seat for Clydebank and Milngavie - taking over from retired Gil Paterson.

She became the first female MSP for the area.
