Detectives in Shettleston are continuing enquiries and appealing for information after the attempted murder of a 45 year-old man in Carntyne on Sunday 23 October 2016.

Around 8:45pm on Sunday evening, the 45 year-old man was crossing Carntynehall Road in Carntyne when he was hit by a black Volkswagen Golf which drove off and was traced a short time later abandoned in Burnbrae Street, Springburn.

The injured pedestrian was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for a head and arm injury. Hospital staff describe his condition as stable.

Detective Constable John McClintock of Shettleston Police Office said: “The incident is being treated as attempted murder and extensive enquiries are ongoing to trace whoever was driving the car at the time of the incident.

“I would appeal to any witnesses, and in particular I would appeal to two men who came to the aid of the injured man immediately after the incident, who both had left the scene before police arrival, to come forward to police as they may have information that is vital to this investigation.”
