Inquiry After Man Found Dead in Rutherglen

An inquiry is under way after a man was found dead in the street in Rutherglen.

His body was discovered this morning on McCallum Avenue.

Police Scotland, who were called to the scene around 6.20am, said they are currently treating the death as unexplained.

A post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.

A force spokeswoman said: Around 6.20am this morning police and emergency services were called to a report of a man found dead on McCallum Avenue, Rutherglen.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained. However, a post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death.

A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal. Inquiries continue.''
