Hunt to trace man in connection with Johnstone assault

Detectives have released images of a man they want to talk in connection with a serious assault which took place in High Street Johnstone, near to the Globe Bar.

Emergency services were called out around 10pm on Friday 19th May to reports of a man who had suffered significant injuries as a result of an assault.

Police have released CCTV images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is described as a white man with a heavy build, 25-35 years old, with dark receding hair, wearing a grey suit, white shirt and blue tie.

Detective Constable Derek Johnston, of Johnstone CID, is appealing for information. He said:

“Enquiries are ongoing to trace the person responsible for this assault. At this time I am appealing to the public to contact us with any information that they may have.”

“I would ask anyone who recognises the man in the images to please get in touch, as it is essential that we speak with him as part of our enquiry.”
