Human remains have been found in a flat in Paisley by detectives searching for missing man Kevin Bishop.

Human remains have been found in a flat in Paisley by detectives searching for missing man Kevin Bishop.

The discovery was made in Schaw Road in the Gallowhill area and a 46 year-old man has been arrested.

32 year-old Kevin disappeared earlier this month and police say his family are aware.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Officers are currently carrying out inquiries at a house in Schaw Road, Paisley in connection with an ongoing missing person inquiry.

"Kevin Bishop, from Paisley, was reported as a missing person on Saturday, 4th August 2018.

"Human remains have been found within the house and a post-mortem will take place to establish the identity. We can confirm that the family of Kevin Bishop has been made aware.

"A 46-year-old man has been arrested and enquiries are ongoing.

"As a man has been arrested proceedings are active."
