Hot and bothered: Paisley woman calls police after getting locked in tanning shop

Published 2nd Nov 2018

A woman had to phone the police after she found herself locked in a Paisley tanning shop after falling asleep on a sunbed.

Emma Dunning, 29, went to Tan Tan Tan on Glasgow Road to use one of their tanning booths late on Tuesday night.

She fell asleep while using the bed - and woke up to find the staff had locked up and gone home for the night.

She said: "The alarm was going off really loudly, and I didn't want anyone to think I'd broken in.

"I phoned the police and told them I'd been locked in, and they thought I was joking.

"I didn't know whether to laugh or cry!"

Luckily, Emma managed to convince the police her story wasn't a hoax, and let herself out the fire exit before they arrived.

She says the owner of the shop was extremely apologetic when he found out what had happened.

We have contacted the owner for comment.
