Heroin and cannabis worth almost half-a-million pounds seized from car in South Lanarkshire

The drugs were discovered following an intelligence-led operation by police

Three people have been arrested after almost half a million pounds worth of class A drugs was found in a car in South Lanarkshire.

Police stopped the vehicle on Teislum Road in Lesmahagow at around 5pm on Friday as part of an intelligence-led operation.

The car was searched, and heroin and cannabis with an estimated street value of £430,000 was recovered.

Two men, aged 28 and 30, and a 28-year-old woman were arrested over the find and have been detained in custody.

A report is to be sent to the Procurator Fiscal and the three are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday
