The heartbroken daughter of a missing Dumbarton man is making an appeal for information so she can "lay him to a peaceful rest."

Jennifer Harley is telling Clyde News "she is not very hopeful" of finding him and "she doesn't believe he is with us anymore".

The grandfather, who would have turned 54 last week, was last seen at his home on Whiteford Avenue at around 11am on Sunday the 28th of September 2014.

Despite searches by the police there has been no trace.

The 25 year old says her father was suffering from depression in the months before his disappearance and he wasn't looking after himself.

She believes he hasn't travelled far and is in the Dumbarton area somewhere and is urging walkers and dog walkers to look out for him.

Paul worked as a welder for Network Rail and moved to Dumbarton from Coatbridge to live with his partner.

Jennifer has set up a Facebook page, called "Find Paul Harley" and is urging anyone with information to share it.

Paul is described as white, around 5ft 5in tall and of slim build. He has black receding hair and a tattoo of “Kyla” on his right arm.

Detective Inspector Andrew Doherty of Dumbarton Police office said: “Despite extensive police enquiries and searches, we have yet to obtain any information on Paul’s whereabouts.

"This is obviously a very distressing time for the family and they are extremely concerned for him. There have been no confirmed sightings of him since he went missing.

“I would urge anyone who may know of Paul’s whereabouts, or who may have any information about him, to contact officers at Dumbarton Police Office through 101.”
