Hospices to receive free hand santizer supplies

A Scottish gin distillery is going to be supplying thousands of bottles of hand sanitizer to charities including hospices and the Celtic Foundation.
Eden Mill says it will support frontline workers with a ‘buy one give one’ hand sanitiser donation scheme for as long as required during the Covid-19 crisis.
The hand sanitizer has been created at the St Andrews distiller in accordance with the World Health Organisation’s guidelines, containing 80 percent alcohol and has been infused with juniper, lemon and orange botanicals.
Customers can buy a 250ml bottle online for themselves which will cover the cover the cost of a bottle to be donated to local charities and hospices.
The first batch of 1,000 bottles to be donated will be shared between charities and hospices who all work in frontline support, including The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, CHAS Scotland and five different charities supported by Eden Mill’s sponsorship partner, the Celtic Foundation; The Salvation Army (Parkhead), Spirit Aid, FARE Scotland, The Wayside Club and Glasgow’s Golden Generation
Eden Mill have also chosen to support hospices close to their distilleries, including the Eden Hospice in Carlisle and Barrogil Care Home in Cluny, near their original site in Guardbridge, where CEO Paul Miller’s father currently resides.
CEO Paul Miller said: “When we realised that we could help the battle against this virus by making hand sanitiser, we knew it was something we absolutely had to do.
We know how difficult it has been for the public to buy hand sanitiser, so we wanted to give them the opportunity to protect themselves and the people around them, while supporting local charities.
We’re selling the bottles at the cost value of two hand sanitiser bottles, so that we can continue to produce more sanitiser and donate it to frontline care workers and charities offering crucial services, for as long as is needed during this critical time. There’s no limitations to the amount we’ll be able to make and donate.”
Celtic FC Foundation’s Chief Executive, Tony Hamilton, added: “This is an incredible initiative from Eden Mill, providing a vital product to those who are vulnerable during this crisis. Eden Mill have been a wonderful supporter of the Foundation on a regular basis and we are so grateful they have chosen to get behind our Football for Good Fund by delivering supplies of the new Eden Mill Hand Sanitiser to some of our partner charities.
